TenStretch – The UK’s first reformer-based stretch class
Ten Health & Fitness have created
the UK’s first reformer-based stretch class that will loosen up your whole body
and help you enjoy a greater range of movement in shoulders, hips and spine.
This is a very intelligent class created by master trainer Erica Foulds who
believes that a reformer class will give you a deeper and more effective
stretch than a traditional one.
During a class, the trainer will lead
you through a progression of dynamic stretches to improve all-round flexibility
and mobility. There will be a specific focus on the problem areas and muscles
groups most adversely affected by the muscular imbalances and postural
challenges of our 21st century living. This class will improve
your range of motion around many of the joints in the body. You will enjoy a
series of deep, yet controlled positions and movements, carefully aligning the
body to produce isolated stretches to specific muscles. You will experience
more flexibility and your posture will improve too.
Some of the benefits of stretching
include:
Improves posture and
flexibility: Without proper stretching our posture suffers which can lead
to stiffness, soreness and aching muscles. Some studies have even show that bad
posture can deepen depression. Stretching increases our range of motion and
lowers the risk of pulled and ripped muscles when we exercise but also in our
daily life.
Creates better alignment: When our body
loses alignment it often affects our balance, metabolism and visual acuity.
Stretching in the right way will prevent this or help the body to re-centre
itself again.
Reduces stress: The slow and calculated
movement of stretching is calming the for mind and relieves tension. That makes
this a very simple but effective tool to reduce stress both physically and
mentally.
TenStretch is less intense than their
standard reformer classes and will focus more on improving flexibility and
posture than strength. This class will remind you of how it feels to feel open
and stretched out.
